Self-devised Visual report

A visual report regarding the lack of socio-economical diversity within the creative sector.

The UK has a crisis of class. It’s systemic. We live it everyday. Now more than ever the disparity between the haves and have nots is overwhelming. Class barriers impact every aspect of our lives.

I believe that creativity cannot be achieved without diversity. Yet, today, only 16% of those working in the creative industries are from a working-class background.

The working-class are made up of a diverse group of people with unique stories to tell. Rich histories, identities, accents and places should not be diminished, but celebrated as the quirks that fuel creativity. Working-class culture should not be fetishised or appropriated; it should be told by working-class creatives and become a positive part of the UK’s culture.
